Over the years I have become somewhat of a self-proclaimed coffee shop connoisseur… basically just meaning that I spend a lot of time in them 🙂 Give me a good cup of coffee and some chill tune-age and I’m set for the day.
A few months ago, I stumbled across this treasure on St. Philip Street in Downtown Charleston. Brown’s Court Bakery is my absolute favorite place to spend a relaxing afternoon meeting with friends or writing blog posts and it has an incredibly cozy and local atmosphere.
My favorite picks are the iced coffee and the many varieties of delicious muffins, however, this bakery boasts a huge selection of made-from-scratch pastries and breads as well as lots of different coffee and espresso drinks.
Brown’s Court also offers gluten-free options for those who are GF as well as some vegan choices. I truly respect a business who offers these accommodations to their customers. Although the coffee and food are to die for, my favorite thing about this place is the uniquely Charleston atmosphere (and fabulous front porch) that cannot be beat.Â
Spots like this are just another of the many reasons that I love this city and it’s historic, eclectic, and uniquely beautiful culture. Can I live here forever?
